Technical Support
Technical Support
Since the 1970s, SEMA has used industry knowledge to become a leading influence in the development of safe storage practices. By linking and collaborating with other leading groups, the influence of SEMA Technical Support is felt around the world.
Technical Committee
Technical excellence is at the very heart of SEMA’s mission . The very structure of the association’s DNA technically interlinks and enables each SEMA member to work against measurable standards.
SEMA formalises its definitive work into a set of codes and guides that are certainly not just for technicians and engineers but are of direct relevance to all those involved with the management and safety of warehouse operations. Together with training, these “codes of honour” as we like to call them, provide a framework for the safe design, manufacture, installation and use of storage equipment by our members.

Industry Partnership
Today, UK-wide, we are the “industry partner and point of reference” on storage safety for the HSE, Local Authorities, RoSPA and the CSCS. Alongside manufacturers, at both board and technical levels.
We play an important role in the BMHF and FEM and sit on many discussion groups which shape storage equipment guidelines and best practice documents. The UK, Europe and further afield adopt these guidelines.
