SEMA Approved Racking Inspector Course - Part 1

SARI Course Part 1

The SEMA Approved Rack Inspector (SARI) Course Part 1 is designed to provide delegates with a solid foundation in rack inspection, focusing on the role and responsibilities of a SARI. The course covers the assembly of adjustable pallet racking, the operation of forklift trucks, and the purpose of each component, giving delegates a practical understanding of how racks function.

Structural Awareness

Structural awareness is emphasised, with guidance on the forces affecting rack components and an introduction to the SEMA Red/Amber/Green (RAG) damage assessment system.

Design

Design considerations are discussed, including SEMA’s recommended design codes alongside relevant EN codes, as well as guidance on the correct interpretation of load notices.

Guidance

Delegates receive guidance on essential measurements, manufacturer identification, and practical exercises that reinforce configuration measurement techniques, ensuring a hands-on understanding of inspection practices.

Course Pre-Qualifications

Applicants must be fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand both spoken and written English and must have completed the SEMA Rack Safety Awareness Course.

All SARI candidates wishing to attend the SARI course must have experience in Rack Inspections, Risk Assessment, and Report Writing (minimum 2 - 3 years).

Each applicant is required to complete an Online Assessment to determine their current eligibility to attend the course. Please click the button below to complete the assessment.

What Happens After?

The SARI Course is split into two parts. Inspectors have up to two years to complete Part 2 in order to obtain their full SARI ID Card. Admission to Part 2 is dependent on the successful completion of Part 1.

Qualification Upgrades

Upon successfully qualifying, the SEMA Approved Rack Inspector (SARI) may also attend the SARI Cantilever module, if required.

Annual Subscription

There is an annual subscription of £830 + VAT to maintain this professional qualification. This will be used to cover the annual SARI Seminar, management and administrative procedures, and a SEMA Web Site Listing.
