Who are SEMA

Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association

Since 1968, The Storage Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (SEMA) has been a leading authority on the design, supply, installation and maintenance of storage equipment.

The work of SEMA covers the lifetime of your equipment, and our guidance provides a framework for safe storage systems.

Everything starts with our Technical Committee, who work on the development of standards for the industry that provide storage equipment guidance publications and codes of practice that are relevant to both designers, installers, inspectors, and owners of racking and shelving.

Over the years, they have developed technical standards and guidance documents that relate to key safety factors that cover the lifetime of your racking and shelving. This provides you with a solid foundation that extends from the safe design and supply of different types of storage equipment, right through inspections, rack safety, and other aspects.

SEMA Membership is formed by leading storage equipment experts and companies who demonstrate a commitment to safety. Their work interrelates to collectively raise quality within the industry.

We don’t just believe that our members are the best, we also want to prove it. That’s why we independently assess all products and services supplied by our members. By conducting independent audits, we can provide warehouse owners and managers with assurances that their storage equipment delivers on current quality, safety and reliability standards for the industry.
